I've had chronic pain in my back and abdomen since my twin pregnancy 10 years ago. After being brushed off by my OB, several primary care physicians, and even the hospital ER, I have developed quite a fear of going to the doctor; however, my pain has developed into something I can barely tolerate, so I needed a doctor to see what's going on. I just wanted someone who wouldn't brush off my concerns after weighing me is all. I got that, and more, with Chris Sheridan at Union Village Medical Group. He is a nurse practitioner, but I will refer to him as Dr. Chris from here on out. Every time I visit with a concern, I am listened to with respect, all the way from reception to the nurse taking vitals, and in the exam room with Dr. Chris. Everyone is patient and kind, and they understand what it's like to be in pain. I'm not judged for my medical history. Instead, we are working together to fix issues my past doctors have ignored. Dr. Chris never makes me feel rushed. In fact, he spent 45 minutes going through test results with me, discussing symptoms, and explaining what we will try next at my last appointment. He even offered to work with my insurance company to try and get an important medication covered. And after all that time spent, Dr. Chris still asked me, just as patiently as his first time, if I had any other concerns I wanted to go over with him.
